Several years ago I had the privilege of doing the wedding reception of the Grandson of the Grand Old Opera’s Roy Acuff. The wedding reception was held on New Year’s Day in Bluefield West Virginia. The reception went well and I even introduced the Bride & Groom to an instrumental version of the Wabash Cannonball. During the event another newlywed who was in attendance walked up to the DJ station and asked me if I could play the song that he and his bride used for their first dance. He said his wife would really appreciate it. I told him I’d try to work it in during the evening. Then I asked him the name of the song and he said “Atlas”. All I could imagine was this guy holding the world above his head. I thought for a moment and then it dawned on me. I looked him in the eye and said…. “Do you mean At Last?” He said yes that’s it “Atlas”!
